Does The Brain Clinic accept insurance?
Dr. Thomas does not participate directly with insurance plans; however, our staff will assist you in pursuing reimbursement. Payment is due at the time services are rendered, and we will provide an itemized receipt along with the appropriate CPT codes so you can submit a claim to your insurer directly. We accept cash, check, Venmo, and Zelle.
What CPT codes are used for your services?
CPT codes are the standardized billing codes your insurance company uses to determine reimbursement eligibility. The Brain Clinic uses the following: Initial Consultation (90791, 96116), Neuropsychological Testing (96118), Psychotherapy (90837), Cognitive Remediation (97532), Quantitative EEG (95816, 95957, 99090), Biofeedback (90901, 96152), and Psychological Intervention for Medical Disorders (96152).
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged the full session fee. For coaching packages and group courses, fees are charged regardless of attendance.
Are evaluations tax deductible?
Learning Disability and ADHD evaluations may be tax deductible as a medical expense. Coaching fees may also be deductible as a business expense. We recommend consulting with your accountant to determine what applies to your situation.
What does a full neuropsychological evaluation cost?
A full evaluation — which includes approximately 8 hours of testing and a detailed written report, conducted by Dr. Thomas or senior licensed staff — is estimated at $5,250 for individuals 16 and older.
For evaluations specifically supporting extended time accommodations on high-stakes exams such as the SAT, ACT, LSAT, MCAT, or GMAT, the estimated fee is $4,500.
What are the fees for other services?
Our current fee schedule is as follows:
Initial Consultation — $300
Psychotherapy — $300/session
EEG Biofeedback — $300/session
Cognitive Remediation — $300/session
Psychological Intervention for Medical Disorders — $300/session
Coaching — $300 per 50-minute session, or $1,200/month (which may include up to five sessions). Coaching fees are billed one month in advance.
